Bienvenidos! (:

I assume everyone had a very happy Monday?? Couldn't possibly be anything less. (: I have a very busy week ahead of me. Papers and projects galore. Yet still I sit here and take the time out to write to you guys. Why? I have NO clue. BUT I love it, and apparently I have fans that I didn't even know about. I am so very happy about that. (:
I have a new opportunity ahead, and a new place where you guys can check out what I have to say about specific things that I know you MUST be wondering. I will post the details when they are all set in stone! Just know, I am stoked. (:

Today's topic: Easy, but beautiful.

This just in. . .
Somethings really can be easy, but also beautiful. Hey, get your minds out of the gutter. Sheeeesshhh. haha What I am referring to is the way one presents them selves. I have found this problem among so many within the past couple weeks. I feel a strong need to touch base on how I see the world. I came up with "The 5 Easy Steps to Being Beautiful: It Isn't All Under a Mask" Man! I should write a book. (:

Step one:

Walk with confidence.
There is nothing more attractive than a individual
who is completely confident with who they are.
Now cockiness, that is a completely different
story. I am talking strictly not caring who is
looking at you and what you are wearing.
Simply strut that natural beauty that yes,
you do have.

Step two:

Wear what makes you feel good.
I have had sooo many girls come to me and say:
"Britt, Is this in style right now?" My answer to
this never changes. It is always "If you like it and
think it looks good, then yes, it is definitely in style."
YEAH BOY!
Why do you really care who may look at you and think
that what you are wearing is not that great? I am 100%
certain that at one point or another, it will be 'in style'.
Wearing what you want, makes you beautiful.

Whether you are a Cindy Lauper....
Or a Lauren Conrad.

Step three:

Let your personality show.
I cannot stress this enough. Don't play it safe or neutral
and try to make everyone like you. If you just let your self
be you, then I promise SO many will see your true beauty.
Allowing your true self be seen, then true friends will cross
your path. True friends who will see your beauty and appreciate
you. What more do you need to strive for?

Step 4:

Read books
Reading is pure beauty. When I am sitting and I can see a
girl or guy with her nose in her book, it makes me happy.
Intelligence is such a beauty booster. Especially a well rounded
vocabulary. Looks are not the only way to achieve beautiful.
Trust me. Reading books expands sooo much. It is
beneficial in more ways than one. FACT for sure.

Step 5:

Have your goals.
There has to be something you want to do! Whether it
be to travel somewhere you have never gone to before, or
become a plastic surgeon. Someone who has goals and
aspirations is beautiful. Set goals, and write them down!
I find that those who are not chasingafter a dream or goal that
they have set, does not have that beauty thriving as much as
someone who does.

I truly believe and live by these five steps of beauty. I think that beauty is hyped up so much as something so materialistic. However, I find it more in the characteristics that people and society often looks over  and mistreats. No matter what color your skin is, where you came from, if you are large or tiny, have one arm or an extra toe; You really have the ability to be beautiful. Purely, beauty is from within and you determine on your own how much beauty you want to let out.

Beauty at it's finest.

I can promise to the highest extent that living by these five easy steps will prove to your self (the only person who matters) that you really are capable of the beauty that you long for. <3

Fun fact: Donald Duck comics were banned from Finland because he doesn't wear any pants.

Hello everyone. Welcome back!
How was the weekend? Everyone have a GREAT Halloween?? I really hope so! I was a Tap dancer I guess you could call me. hahah Blazer, leotard, tights, bow tie, the whole enchilada. (: I would say that I had a good weekend. Went out Friday and Saturday, then Sunday I wore my wonderful Halloween shirt, passed out candy, and got half way through the movie that was rented with the two greatest people in the world. (:

Today's topic: Moving out. Yeah boy!

This just in. . .
In school, you actually do work. GO FIGURE. All your teachers assume that you have on work from another class and all four end up having a big assignment due on the same day. Wonderful right?

Its pretty ridiculous how much home work I have. But i guess its my fault for waiting until the last minute..again. They are all simply so time consuming. I cannot decide which one is the most work and do it first. So I decided that I am simply going to take this entire evening and just work on all of them and at least get a majority done.

this is my list of things to do... annnnddd this is me...

You know what else comes with living on your own?
CLEANING SUCKA!
Obviously, this new found realization has not been told to my roommates. Jessica and I split the cleaning in this apartment 90:10. It is just SO fantastic. :|

Our roommates are Aladdin, and Jessica and I are Genie who has to do everything Aladdin says because Aladdin is Genie's master. Apparently this is just how it works in this house.
Welll... we left a LONG note on the fridge today. It explained how we are tired of cleaning up after everyone and that Mommy and Daddy are not here to take care of them. It is really easy to just wipe down the stove after you use it, or ask before you use some thing that does not belong to you. I do not think we are being unreasonable. Am I wrong?

We couldn't let it look like this. . . Sooooo we had to write a note. Dear Suitemates... basically, clean up after yourselves. Sometimes you just have to be rude to get the point across right?

Well that's all for the night. I now have an emergency obligation.
talk to you tomorrow!

Fun fact: college kids will compromise just about everything to keep their parking spot.

Hello! Hey! Howdy! Hi! Hey! Hello!
Welcome back everyone. I deeply apologize for not posting yesterday even though I said I would. Yesterday was such an overwhelming day. I am simply flabbergasted.

Today's topic: Food

This just in. . .
Every culture has their own kind of food! Who knew right? (; haha So I truly believe that Jessica and I eat the best of everyone in our apartment building. BY FAR. Everyone is living off of top ramen and sandwiches. Buuutt for our lunch today, we made beef and broccoli. ooh la la

Delicious right? BETTER than what you can get from the restaurants. (:

Jessica's favorite food in the entire world is called Pho ap chao.

It is a Vietnamese dish. Pho ap chao is a either a thick soft clear wide noodle or crispy egg noodle. It has shrimp, squid, chicken, and beef with the noodles. Also, broccoli, carrots, and bokchoy (chinese broccoli!) Lastly, a good, thick, delicious, unknown sweet, beef sauce is what is is sauteed in. YUM YUM YUM apparently.
Now I must go try it. Gotta try everything at least once! Apparently it is to die for. Who even knew? Jessica secretly is Vietnamese though. (:

Well this is it by the way.

My favorite food is the perfect grilled cheese sandwich.

BUT no no no. Not one that looks like this
 |
V

Oh, but definitely not this one either...
My perfect grilled cheese looks like something along these incredible lines.

mmmmmmm NOM NOM NOMM

I get everyone I know addicted to these things. Grilled cheese with tomatoes and avocados. Once you have a grilled cheese sandwich Brittani style, You will never go back to your own ways. NEVER. paha

That second kind of grilled cheese sandwich I have a picture of, is called a Grape and Taleggio Grilled Cheese sandwich. Crazy right?
It is best on Rye bread I personally think. Sourdough is second best. The cheese is Taleggio cheese. It is made in Italy’s Lombardy region. Then, to top it off, it is prepared with grapes that are soaked in grappa. Grappa is a grape liqueur. It is actually a really good sandwich. Just a different look. Definitely add it to your list of exotic dishes to dip your toe into. (:

I keep telling my friend who is Indian that I do really want to try Indian food. However, I am NOT good with spicy foods; not at all. Most Indian food is spicy. Therefore, I guess I simply have to suck it up and be a big girl. At least through one meal. I may be crying, but that doesn't mean I don't like it!

Bhelpuri: rice dish with potatoes and a tangy tamarind sauce.
Paneer: unaged, acid-set, non-melting farmer cheese or curd cheese made by curdling heated milk with lemon juice
Paratha: Indian flat bread
Chutney: word incorporated into English from Hindi describing a pasty sauce in Indian cuisine.

Bhelpuri, navaratan dal, kadai spinach & paneer, shahi pilaf, laccha parantha & mango chutney.

Yes, that slab that looks like chicken, is cheese. Goes with the bread(:

THIS is what I want.
I need a friend who is Indian so I can come over for dinner and have this. mmm
This will basically just make me satisfied with life. hahah

Canada: canadian- Chinese cuisine

Africa: fruits, cereal grains and vegetables, as well as milk curd, whey, and meat products.

Russia: fish, chicken, turkey, deer, mushrooms, berries, and honey.Agricultural: rye, wheat, and barley.     Prepared: Breads, pancakes, cereals, beer, and vodka.

Ireland:  crops grown and animals farmed. Potatoes, beef, bacon, and cabbage.

Jamaica: curry goat, fried dumplings, ackee and cod (national dish of Jamaica), steamed cabbage, rice and peas.

China: Rice, noodles, tofu, stir-fried green vegetables, porridge, nuts, plums, dried fruit, melon seeds, and waxberries, and Yellow wine.

Well that is all for now everyone. Thank you for reading!
Just so you all are aware, I may be somewhat distant for the next couple weeks so I apologize if I skip a day here and there. I am simply taking a break from my busy life and trying to focus on the decisions I need to come up with, and the situations I need to deal with. Blogging is what I love and I would rather sit here all day and talk than do anything else. BUT just in case, I thought I'd let my uh "fans" know. huh Thanks again!
Everyone have a great weekend. BE SMART on Halloween! I'll be back on Monday writing to all you partyers out there! Go all out on costumes; what other day of the year can you? (:

Fun fact: Indonesia banned Hula Hoops because they "might stimulate
passion."

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday!
Today is October 26th. You know what that means? Only five more days until Halloween. boy oh boy. Still, Brittani here has no clue what she is going to dress up as this weekend. Time is definitely slipping away. I am just ALWAYS so last minute. Jeez louise.

Today's topic: Tattoos

This just in. . .
Just in case you were still unaware, Tattoos definitely hurt. Surprise!
I really do want a tattoo. Just a small one. I have actually been wanting it for sometime now. BUT I am absolutely terrible with pain. dun dun dun

I was talking with this boy named Carlos today. He actually JUST got his new tattoo on Monday. It took 6 hours to complete, and I think it looks so good..
The girl he said did it for him is named Jen, and she tattoos in City of Orange. Apparently she is so known and good that he made the appointment for Monday in June. That was the next available opening. Tattoo artists are honestly extremely talented artists who are sometimes just looked right over as 'artists'. Carlos went in with his idea of what he wanted exactly, but once Jen put in her input and what she thought, he realized that the artist usually knows what will work best for the canvas provided.
When I was talking with Carlos, he was saying how he loves art history. The artwork he chose for his right bicep is definitely a part of the Renaissance Era of art. It has so much detail put into it including the engraving on the top of the cross, the angels' skin and hair particles, and even the softness of the clouds. I think it is really beautiful. I know that I would not be able to handle it. Not at all. hahah Brittani = Big baby.

My friend Jenna Craig got a tattoo actually in the same spot as Carlos did. Her's is something I also very much enjoy. It is a dandelion. I think it is really a simple piece of art, but it can say soooo much. It has so many different meanings that can come out of it. Especially because it has some of the seeds already blowing off.

When asked what it meant to her, she answered that it symbolizes traveling and growth and leaving a piece of her wherever she had gone and whoever she came into contact with.
"I also volunteer a lot, and I always wonder if the little things i've done to help others have grown into something more, but i'll never know." I am really inspired by her statement about the dandelion itself. "Dandelions are weeds so they're resilient and tough, they can grow almost anywhere, and their spores can travel for miles on a strong wind. I saw a lot of myself reflected in dandelions, so why not have one with me forever."
I think the artwork that is on Jenna's arm is beautiful. A beautiful tattoo for a beautiful girl; both inside and out.

Tattoo artist: Jesse Gazal
Tattoo shop: Riptide Tattoo in West LA

Another friend's tattoo:

This is a girl I actually grew up with named Melissa Carter. She just got this done when she turned 18 this past weekend. (:
I think that it is really an incredible thing. She got it done to honor and/or in remembrance of her grandmother who sadly passed in 2007 due to ovarian cancer. The official ribbon for ovarian cancer awareness is the teal ribbon. Plus, a little cow print. Presto, a beautiful tattoo with a message behind it that has a touch of uniqueness to it. I really do like it. I think I like it even more because I can relate to the subject matter behind it.

Tattoo artist: Chriss Burnett
Tattoo shop: Art Junkies in Hesperia

This is my other friend's tattoo. She has a problem. hahah She asked me to keep her nameless. jees louise. I guess not everyone likes to be friends with someone who announces everything of her day into a blog. oh well. hahah well this is it (:

Tattoo artist: Sii Liufau
Tattoo shop: A Town Tattoo

I am really really honored with my brother's tattoos. He has them all over: on his back, ribs, chest, and both full sleeves. The honoring part is the small fact that my name is tattooed on his left wrist and my other brother's name tattooed on his right wrist. When I learned of this, my heart just dropped. I felt so appreciated and incredible that I will always be with him and I obviously mean that much to him. I am his baby sister.

Tattoo artist: unknown
Tattoo shop location for forearms: Los angeles, Ca
Tattoo shop location for wrists: Afganastan

I really do want my tattoo. It is simple. Just a small christian fish, with Isaiah 58:11 under it. That is really all I have wanted for years. Buuuuttt never will I ever face my fears. I really just do not think I can do it. hah From talking to people about tattoos today, I have learned so much. I learned how much work goes into simply the instruments. For example, the outline is all just one needle and a constant tear. This is what usually hurts the most. If you have a filling like the clouds in Carlos', then 10-15 needles can be used as like an air brush format. More of a scraping I guess you can say. (according to Carlos) I learned that getting a tattoo removed takes about 4 times as long as it did to get the tattoo, and it hurts about 10 times worse. Soooooo be careful with what you decide on.
We will see. Maybe I will eventually grow my balls you know?

That's all for today then.

Oh! Guess what. Jessica and I got a cookbook today. We are going to pull our own Julie and Julia type of thing and make three meals a week from it. I will be posting it on here every time too. So you can keep up with our progress. I am very excited. (:

Well I will talk to you guys tomorrow!

Hey everyone!
Welcome back to the site. I know that I have  not been writing for the past couple weeks. Things have been pretty hectic, chaotic, and just a big roller coaster.  how is everyone doing? Prepared for Halloween? I am pretty stoked I suppose. ahahha

Today's topic: New life
This just in. . .
Things are going well up here in the new apartment. I love my roommates, but I miss my friends. What can I do? Making lots of new friends here. Out here in Orange County, there are so many people of all different shapes and sizes, colors and personalities. I am happy to say that I have met a variety. (:

Today we made two batches of cookies! Made wonderful sugar cookies with ghosts on them. (:

Soo adorable rightt?? (:
They were absolutely delicious!

Theennnn. . .

we found an incredible discovery.
We persisted to make peanut butter cookies from scratch. Now those my friends were just wonderful.

Welcome back everyone. Happy Friday! Oh, I mean Thursday. Today is my friday though(: I am sure that this weekend I am going to start and finish my paper for english so I do not have to do it next week. Also, my dad aka Akon is coming out tomorrow morning to fix my car. Then! the best friend is meeting me. So excited.

Today's topic: Surprises

This just in. . .
Life is full of little surprises. What more is there to say?? Sometimes, that is simply wonderful. If you are just having one of those horrible days and you feel like nothing can make you smile, when you get a cute, little surprise from someone, it just lights up your day and you can't stop smiling!
Like right now, one of my friends who has been in my life since like first grade is really down lately. I know just what makes her smile, so I am about to send her a nice little package. I'd be very happy if I got to receive it. (:
This is going to be her. (:

My roommate Jessica's anniversary was on Wednesday. Three years together! I think Kevin did a good job, because he couldn't afford to do much for her, so he made her roses! and also, he made an 'Adventure book' just like in the movie Up.

Cute right? what an adorable surprise! (: Kevin is sweet. At least I think so. haha

I LOVE surprises. (:
my favorite type of surprise is when one of my friends just shows up at my door. OR when I am surprised with a fancy trip to the museum. (: aw those days always make me smile.

Oh hey, I think that's me.
(:

SURPRISE! IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY!

haha I think surprise parties are the best kind of surprises. If I were actually thrown a surprise party, I think I would simply just break out in song and dance and just be permanently smiling for weeks. (:

hey, that's me.

One of the best surprises I have received lately are the gifts Melody brought me back from her trip to Iran. They were really wonderful and I really use them all the time. She gave me earrings and a little purse that I use as my change purse; they were both hand made. I didn't expect it at alll and I LOVE them. (:

one of the earrings....

And the little purse!
look a that lazy eye. pahah

When she gave them to me. . . This is how I felt inside!!

oh, it's me again. (:

hahahah anywho . . .
That's all for today. I will be back tomorrow! Maybe my paper will be finished. I'll tell you how the date with Nicole goes, and whether or not Mr. Akon fixes my automobile. AH see you later alligators! Make sure to eat vegetables and say good morning to every old man you walk by. (:
