Hello Everyone!
Oh my goodness it has been such a long time since I have been here, writing to you! About a week I believe! So much going on. School work: papers, essays, math problems and what not. Then on top of that, Things have just been so hectic. Life's little measures and crazy surprises. What can I do you know? hahah Did we all have a fantastic weekend?? Any out of state travelers? Fishing stories? Anyone chased by a bear?
This week, I had two tests, and got essay results. So next week should be a breeze. To end off this week, a fabulous date with a fabulous friend is on friday, so good hopes to start off a splendid weekend (:Any who,
Today's topic: Updating

Here is an update of my life for you!
I am going to be a mentor for a child who's both parents are incarcerated. I did touch be on this already in a previous blog. Well it is through a program called America on Track! It is really incredible, and actually nationally recognized. Presidents of years past have all made note on it and have seen for them selves how greet the program is. Really, If you are at all interested in it, I think you should check out the web site. I am certain that where ever you are, and when ever you are ready, the have an office and an opportunity waiting for you. Even if you are under the age of 18! check it out! they always need mentors. I'll post several links for you. (:

CLICK! BEFORE WE MOVE ON!

I recently got my ears pierced, and guess what! Yesterday was the first day that I actually changed them and wore earrings that i loved. AND today! I wore the incredible dangly earrings that Melody got me from Iran. Ah i was SO very happy to wear them. I really took them off just now only to sit her and be comfy and write this; otherwise, they'd still be on.

My little baby ears that are really only about this size hurt soooo badly. Haha and now they are supporting actual jewelry. SURPRISE!

My ears can now support everything! hah like the feathers
<---
and also all the adorable Betsy Johnson ones!

Then there are even those crazy ones if i really wanted and absolutely HAD to. hahaha

are these heads not a little creepy?
AND even better. . .

The flying monkeys from Wizard of OZ. (:
hahahahah I love those.

OH! I did want to update you on my friend that I refer to here as the stripper. She actually accidentally confessed her love for her TA the other day. He really heard her say the word 'propose'. Perfect right? Apparently he turned tomato red when he heard it, and had that look on his face that he was SO happy that she felt the same way. HA! I guess we will see where that decides to take us. I'll definitely keep you updated on that!

This is actually how she pictured proposing to him. . . BUT you know, she accidentally dropped the bomb... and HE FREAKED OUT.

He looked like this
---->

fabulous right?

hahah bless her little heart.

Anywho, that is really all the updates I have for tonight. I suppose I will sleep now, since I must attend my teacher's office hours at 8 o'clock tomorrow morning. :P I will most definitely be here again! Keep reading! Thank God you are alive again tonight to read my words. (:

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE!  <--- click there. on track really is a good thing(:

Welcome back everyone!
Thank you to those who read everyday! I love it. (:
today might be  little short. I am not feeling up to par today. ): I've sleeping all day long it what i feel like is the flu. :/

Today's topic: Remedies

This just in. . .
This is the time of year that the weather starts changing. No one can really handle it, and everyone starts to get sick and stuffy and there is just always that crazy bug going around.

I am always told to stay in bed and drink camomile tea for a tummy ache. and if it is your throat too, then add lemon and honey to it. I don't think it tastes best this way, but what ever makes you feel better right?

Benefits of camomile tea:

Chamomile tea boosts the immune system and fight infections associated with colds
Chamomile tea relieves muscle spasms and menstrual cramps in women
Chamomile tea relaxes the nerves
Chamomile tea soothes the stomach
Chamomile tea reduces inflammation
Chamomile tea improves liver function
Chamomile tea helps relieve back pain
Chamomile tea helps relieve rheumatism

(: that's a lot of good

another flu remedy is taking a hot shower. Like your own personal sauna I presume. It is said that the steam helps your air ways open up and help you breathe again (:

Showers are always wonderful, but what also helps a lot, are heat compressors. If a really bad head ache is present, and it is hard to breathe through your nose, then this usually helps. Just get a couple wash cloths and run them under hot water (not too hot so that it would burn your skin) then just lay them on your cheeks and forehead. It is really soothing and definitely helps out.

This is always what to do after you are already feeling ill. To try to stay healthy, WASH YOUR HANDS! drink lots of water, and get enough sleep. also, try not to stress out too much. All of this can make you sick.. give your body what it needs(:

Well that is all I have for today. I am going to takee a nice hot shower, then go to sleep. trying to get alll better. (:
I'll be back tomorrow!

Hey everyone!
Wow! it has been a long weekend! No post Friday, or Monday? Jeez louise anyone simply have an insane weekend? ?

well,
Today's topic: Cultures!

Soo today I guess was a multi-cultural day here. Very cool.

This just in. . .
There was a multi-cultural food tasting event in the quad and everything. I think it is very neat to walk around school and see SO many different cultures. and not even just ethnic back grounds and what not.

Example one:

In my Humanities class, there is a girl named Ala. She is a really neat person! and she is middle eastern, and Muslim.

This reminds me of her because of her hijab.
She is always wearing pretty different printed ones.
yesterday she had this lace white one.
last wednesday was this pastel floral.
I love them(:

I really really really am interested in this next one.

African dancing. It amazes me so much.
There is so much movement and technique in it.
I am certain you must be strong and be able to carry your self well.

I know I couldn't do it. But what kind of dance CAN I do? :/
hahaha

Who has stretched ears out there? ummmm majority does, correct?
My roommate does!
Ta dah!
Jessica

Well so do tribal villages in Africa, and Monks in China. These are where it came from here. Pretty crazy!

AND! You will never guess what are from Germany. DUN DUN DUN
my favorite boots!

Dr. Martens(:

These are mine
            ------>

               (:

Fact of the matter is...
they were actually created by a doctor in Germany during World War two! He had sprained his ankle skiing and found his regular army boots to uncomfy!
FUNNAY (:

Well that is all for today! I hope to see you tomorrow!
I am now off to my meeting for the mentor program i am going to be in! SO very excited(:

Hello world.
How is everyone out there today? Thanks for stopping in! Today I have an appointment at the writing center, so I am writing on my break today. Just english to go then I start my weekend. Thursday is the new Friday of course. (:

Today's topic: Black and white

This just in . . .
So I think my roommate and I are happy to call this little place we have now home. It is nice and cozy and we finally decorated things how we want them to be. Our favorite location in our room: our black and white wall. I couldn't rotate it, sadly. . .
But any who, this is our black and white wall that we adore. Frank Sinatra exists on it, Lindsay Lohan, and even Drew her self. (:

Sooo I do not like cats very much. Except for Nicole's cat Bob of course: oh, and Melody's. Funny, because they are both black and white. But i came across this cat picture. AND! It made me want him! Just this little guy. I wanna just keep him in my room and not let him get any bigger. Aw what a cutie pie.

Oh my goodness! Is he not adorable???
I just want to squeeeezeee him and loovvvee him.
And keep him for ever and ever. I shall name him whiskers. (:

Okay this concept always amazes me. It always makes me think about doing something in biology. But then of course I come back to reality and remember that I hate every other part of the subject. :P
look at these little cuties.

Yes, they are what you are thinking. Twins where one is black, and one is white; ethnicity wise. A biracial couple. How incredible is that? and they are just darling right? The statistics of this happening are 1:1,000,000 Crazy to be apart of that statistic, am I wrong? How insane, yet beautiful the world works.

Last but not least, I feel like you probably should not do this:

Black and white wedding? I do not know. . . but it seems a little dark to me. What do you guys think?
I have seen when decorations were black and white. . . like the cake and everything. But then the wedding party was all in red. I was beautiful. But I am not sure that I'd go for the opposite. Just saying. What can I do? (:

That's all I have time for today. I must head to english now. Tomorrow, I shall return with yet another word of mouth! See you then

Well, Hello again.
So I am still attempting my paper. "Explain in 5-7 pages the relationship between reason and memory. Include our in class discussion about Plato, Aristotle, and Socrates and their view points on the subject."
:| any suggestions?

Today's topic: Starbucks Addict

This just in. . .
Our school campus: one legitimate Starbucks location, 5 shops who brew Starbucks coffee and has the same menu selections. What can you do? I guess I can simply drink my way to bankruptcy. Or maybe work at a fabulous "after hours" joint in downtown Hollywood to afford my for or five daily stops. Whatever the case. . . I think i have a problem.

My friend is definitely a Starbucks addict. (The same girl previous alluded as the stripper) She comes into class with her coffee along with whatever item she chose from the glass window that day. Then after class, we go back to starbucks and she gets a bigger size. Then we sit for our 3 hour break and while she talks more about her latest expedition in her night job, I write to you guys! Then as we leave to our next class, she gets another!
And need I remind you that she still has from then (one o clock) until she goes to bed! She has WAY too much. Up all night on that caffeine boost, I am certain.

All day, Everyday. Right?

So what is everyone's favorite choice of drink from the Cult its self? (:

White Mocha?
470 Calories

Shaken Black Tea?
Just 80 Calories

My two favorites are these too. FABULOUS.
White mocha is more Winter like. When I am shivering like crazy.
My shaken black tea is my summer drink! When it is hot out and I just need a a relaxing afternoon. Best days with Nicole involve Shaken teas. (:

Then. . .
There is that one drink that I LOVE but do not get very often because it is soooo bad for me. huh FULL of caffeine, and sugar, and just death. BUT is is simply wonderful. Straight diabetes attack of course.
VOILA! Mocha Frappuccino.
500 Calories.
98 Carbohydrates

Haha This is really soooo wonderful. I always crave it and am tempted to get it. But I mean, that's what happenes when you are an addict right?
Somewhat ridiculous, I know, but Starbucks is obviously the world right now. What can I do?
So I buy into all the deliciousness, and all the calories, and sugars, and fats, and simply ignore the fact that I am heading into a bigger hole. All I pay attention to is the smile of when I am having s great day because of it. hahahah

Well, that is pretty much all. Be sure to stop by a Starbucks today. Try one of my favorites! and Use that free WiFi. It'll all be all right. Ignorance is bliss. Right? (:

Fun fact: There is a Starbucks in Myungdong, South Korea that is five stories tall.

Ciao everyone(:
I apologize for such the delays this week. Papers, and studying and what not. Then Disneyland, then tiny little uproar with the vehicle. It is somewhat ridiculous. But what can I do? So I was helping Alisa study for her Art History exam and I had a revival of my love for art and just wanted to just throw some pieces out for you.

Today's Topic: Art

This just in. . .
Art is everywhere. and OBVIOUSLY it has been around from centuries. Fabulous. I spend, I am sure, Months of my lifetime at art galleries and museums. Studying artists and just everything. It intrigues me so very much. My life. (:

Okay so this first one is just my favorite picture that I came across in Google when I searched 'art'. hahaha I was simply curious to see all the variations and possibilities  of artists and how they think. I found it very interesting also because of the fact that the artist was listed as unknown. That always makes me wonder about where they came from, and why this piece specifically.

BUT that's just me maybe. Who knows. (:

My favorite artist BY FAR is Andy Warhol. He makes me think and wonder. Warhol's career was formed during the civil rights movement years. Therefore, all the meanings behind his pieces usually have meanings, statements, arguments, or simply maybe of something or someone that caused a big movement or was extremely popular. Like his very famous Marilyn Monroe.

I do not know what i love this butterfly so much, but it is
my ultimate preference of his pieces.

This one is amazing to me. Aways one of my favorites. . Who wants tomato soup with him in it? (:

Of course the fabulous Marilyn Monroe.

Of course there is so much more to art, but I just wanted to put out my favorite artist. Promos to any gallery showing Andy Warhol. (:

Lastly, I have one picture of street art. I think individuals who do that type are so incredible. That takes MAD talent. Am I wrong?

I LOVE this soooo much. I look at it at least 4 times a day. WHO can draw like this? on cement. TELL ME NOW. If you can, I will marry you. I mean, so long that you play the piano as well. . .

Well there you have it. My art preferences and the key to my heart.
That is all for today, sadly. Things will be interesting again soon! Please just stay tuned. Ha I can rhyme. (: Hopefully I hear from you all soon!

Hello! Welcome back all.
I really hope everyone had a FANTASTIC weekend. Memorial for September eleventh victims, and also current veterans of the military, fire department, and police force. And thanks to those serving now. I spent that evening at an Angels game, and YES they did win over the Mariners. (: What a game! Any who, short run though today. Paper to write. :\ Still, I've got to keep you interested!

Today's topic: Pants

This just in. . .
It is hard to keep wearing shorts; at least out here in Orange County it is. Or maybe it is just me because I am ALWAYS cold. Whatever the case, I just wanted to put out there all my favorites of too cold for pant weather. And yes, we are looking at comfort and trendy(:

These first too are my tops! The white Express trouser is actually a pair that I own! They are THE most comfortable things. I used to wear them to work ALL the time. Those with a simple t-shirt tucked in or out, your choice (especially a boyfriend scoop neck tee from Nordstrom's BP department) and a simple pair of wedges makes for an adorable piece; wearable for any occasion. (:

The Boho fit gray pair on the right is actually the pair I have been eyeing for SOO long. They have that whole little Bollywood look to them. Totally Chic. This whole type of style is in right now, and i cannot wait until I actually own this EXACT pair. Then the whole majority of people who already believe I am Indian can grow and I can walk around singing Aye-chick-a-nye-nye in my extremely high pitched voice while i belly dance. (Thank you Melody for the demonstration)

Corduroys are also wonderful! oh my goodness. I do actually like this plumpish color. I think it is really nice and a good pop of color if you are like me and wear lots of grays and blacks. Corduroys are such a blast from the past, but like everything else, they are rolling on back. Guys and girls alike! And let me tell you, Boy are they comfy. Like always having a blanket. (;

Jeggings: yes, jean leggings, are soooooo comfortable. I own a pair that look like black skinnies. If there is an outfit that i don't really want to put jeans with because i just want to be relaxed even though the outfit would go perfect with jeans, I break out the jeggings! hahaha They really are the perfect solution. I'd say invest in at least one pair.

So that's about it I suppose. I NEED a shopping date. Brea Mall, South Coast Plaza, Main Place: Santa Anna, Fashion Island. . . anyone? They are all right around. (: Maybe I'll throw a fashion show for you!

Orrr maybe I'll find these:

Are they shoes? Or are they pants? We'll find out. (: In the Next adventures of Brittani Peyton! DUN DUN DUN
See you later!

Fun fact: Bell peppers have three times as much vitamin C than Oranges.

Bienvenidos!

Today's topic: Miscellaneous

This just in. . .
If you park somewhere on CSUF you must check on your vehicle every hour or so, because if you are lucky, Parking and Transportation may throw a one hour parking sign in front of your already parked car, then write you up a ticket.
SWEEETT!

They are crazy. At least in my opinion. So yes, my roommate and I both got parking tickets. Along with everyone on the first floor of the parking structure because the one hour parking sign was not there before we parked there the night prior. If it was, ALL of  us would not have parked there. DUH...
So we contested it. and guess what! they said request was withheld and we were at fault! Ridiculous. SOOO I had to pay the ticket today. Sixty dollars! and I requested an in-person hearing to try to appeal it one last time. That is scheduled for Tuesday October 12th, at 2:00 PM. So we will see. :P
Just be careful. Parking and transportation are watching. My friend Alisa got a ticket while she was sitting IN her car. Ridiculous.

Any who, so today I am also going to get my hair trimmed at 6 o'clock. I am so excited. It needs it so badly. I feel like if I don't, my hair is going to start falling out, and I will eventually be bald.

But who knows! Maybe that'd be a good thing! I do not know that I'd be brave enough to risk it though. (: Also, I really want to grow my bangs out. BUT I don't want to go through that awkward length and hate it soo much. so I think this time, I am going to cut my bangs for the last time. Then, just start letting them grow out I guess. I can't grow my bangs out without being in that awkward stage; no way around it. . . :/ This will be me.

Alisa and I have been going to the gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It has been HARD. ): My abs are killing me! It hurts to stretch, and to sneeze, and to laugh. So no Funny business! (;
We are sticking to it really well though! This time may actually be the time that I get tone again. Alisa is pushing me, doing the most. But it is good!
I feel like we need a such thing as INSTANT ABS. it is so discouraging when you work out, and you see no results until so much later. I can see the advertisements now. . .

(in a monotone infomercial voice) "Tired of working out and still seeing flab? Do you want to know that what you are doing at the gym is really working for you? Or do you want to be able to go to the gym the morning before a special occasion, and simply have good abdominal muscles that you can flaunt by that evening? Then you need tot try InstaAbs! (all name copyrights reserved) These amazing creations come in a variety of skin tones and. . ."

Step one

Step two

And step three

TADAH! Perfect solution. Come on engineers get on top of that. (oooff That's what she said.) Jessica has been throwing those jokes left and right, so I had to do it.

That's all for today I presume. I'll be back on Monday!
Make sure to have a safe weekend. Eat lots of fruit. (:

Fun fact: A Swiss ski resort announced it would combat global warming by wrapping its mountain glaciers in aluminum foil to keep them from melting.

Hello again!
I am happy to have your attention for the next 2 minutes. (:

Today's topic: Change

This just in. . .
      Sometimes, change really is fabulous.
So I stepped foot into the world of college exactly twenty-two days and 3.5 hours and some odd minutes ago. A lot can happen in that time. I went from living with my mom in a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house, having a high end job which I absolutely loved, being surrounded by the best friends that are absolutely the greatest people I've come across, and always having my beastly dogs to play with. Basically, I was like her. (:
Now. . . I share an apartment with three other girls. My roommate and I cram our two desks, dressers, and beds into one room and all of each of our clothes into one closet. My best friends are so far away and I came to school knowing no one. I have no job what so ever, and not even my pet fish anymore.
Now i am more like this guy. :P

BUT! Change is good. (:

I used to be enrolled in high school.
I had hard advanced placement classes.
All my INSANE teachers would assign paper after paper saying this was how they do it in college! and they would throw out of the blue tests at us before even teaching the material. And never, and I mean NEVER call out an answer with out raising your hand. Stress Stress Stress.

So I came into college expecting the same thing! Now I have classes with teachers who are not TAs, but they are not professors either. They are quite lazy, and talk to us like we are seven. We never have homework, and we NEVER write more than a page. Welcome to the sixth grade imitation, where we learn how to write five paragraph essays and watch movies about fat and calories.

BUT! Change is good. (:

At home, I have no little siblings. No one in the house looks up to baby Brittani. No one does something dumb because 'Well, Britt did it first' or anything along those lines.
In two weeks, I am going to be a mentor for a little girl who sadly is the child of two individuals who are incarcerated. so sad, but such a wonderful opportunity. Maybe she will be like my little sister, and maybe she will look up to me and I could teach her. (: SO very excited.

Maybe we will be like this!

Or this (:

I am so anxious.
I feel like this could be my chance to possibly make a difference in her life.
I have hopes for her to not become like her parents. (and I haven't even met her yet!)
But I am sure it is going to be a great year with her. (:

AND, change is good. (:

So pretty much, I believe that is all i have to say for today. Things are going good. Got a new bike to get to class with. Have a new work out goal. Have a new good set of friends. And lastly, I love my roommate Jessica.
That's all for now, Hope to have you back tomorrow.
